A New Name and Face
Tempered Steel, formerly The Hungry Eye, made its debut in Spring 2009. Started in 1994 as The Hungry Eye, the magazine's mission has always been to create a literary presence and awareness on the CSU-Pueblo campus and in its surrounding community to educate, entertain, and enlighten. In the future, Tempered Steel will carry on the tradition of The Hungry Eye by continuing to strive toward excellence in fulfilling its inherited mission.

A Special Thanks from Tempered Steel.
Tempered Steel is made possible through generous funding by CSU-Pueblo's English Department, the College of Humanities Arts and Social Sciences, the Office of the Provost, and the President's Office.
Also, we would like to thank the staff at CSU-Pueblo’s Information Technology Center (Adam Pocius and Geri Koncilja) for their incredible sacrifice of time to assist our Online Editors in the learning of how to build this website.
And finally, we would like to thank the students of CSU-Pueblo for having the courage to submit their literary works to our publication for consideration. Without you none of this would be possible. Thank you.
