Welcome to Tempered Steel!
In an effort to reflect our changing community, history, and region, the name of the magazine and club will now be Tempered Steel. Formerly known as The Hungry Eye, Tempered Steel is the official website for Colorado State University-Pueblo's Literary Magazine. Housed in the Department of English and Foreign Languages, we sponsor literary events, workshops, open mic readings, and publish an annual literary magazine every spring.
Run by a handful of dedicated students with the help of Faculty Sponsors, Tempered Steel's mission is to create a literary presence and awareness for the CSU-Pueblo campus and the Pueblo community. We strive to publish quality poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by CSU-Pueblo students and give our readers a satisfying read.
We hope that you will explore our site and submit your own work to our magazine.

SUMMER TIME!!!
Summer is finally here and the staff of Tempered Steel is taking a break. Please continue to submit your works for concideration in our journal while we enjoy a little fun in the sun. We will be hard at work again with the start of the Fall Semester. Thanks!
